University Academy Warrington

Open Evening 2018

University Academy Warrington (UAW) is a forward looking Academy in the heart of Warrington which is on a very exciting journey and, whilst proud of what we have achieved so far, we are determined to continue to progress to become Ofsted ‘Good’ and then ‘Outstanding’.

  • Open Evening: Thursday 20 September 2018, 5:30pm - 7:30pm.

Your child will learn within an inclusive environment in which we know each and every one of our students, and can support and nurture them to achieve their full potential.  This is reflected in the rich, varied and aspirational curriculum we offer, which acknowledges that every student is an individual with different strengths, needs and interests.

A strong enrichment programme provides unique experiences for every child including sports, arts, academic activities and clubs.  Students are provided with many opportunities for leadership development which include being anti–bullying and fundraising ambassadors, sports leaders, literacy and numeracy leaders, Duke of Edinburgh pioneers and representatives on the student leadership team at the Academy.

We are an Academy committed to giving our students the best possible education in an environment where hard work, self-belief and a strong sense of community are rewarded and championed. We want students to leave UAW as ambitious, confident young people who emanate our values and ethos.

Your child’s success is reflected in our success as an Academy:

■ Ofsted grading of ‘GOOD’ in ‘Personal development, behaviour and welfare’ and ‘effectiveness of leadership and management’ (November 2016).
■ Rapidly increasing attainment and progress in English and Mathematics.
■ Progress in Humanities in 2017, places UAW in the top 20% of schools nationally.
■ Attainment in the arts is significantly better than other schools nationally.
■ All Year 11 students were offered an apprenticeship or a place to study at college.
■ A well-established transition programme, working closely with our partner primaries, was seen as a strength by Ofsted (November 2017).

How to apply? To apply for a place in Year 7 at UAW, you should follow the same procedures as applying for any other state funded school which is through the local authority.
